About me



I'm a half Finnish designer who has since taken a break to bring up my children. I used to work in Graphic Design, but now I prefer working with textiles and illustration. This blog is about my allotment and garden. I have been gardening for many years and grew up watching my mum and dad do the same. I began my allotment in Jan 2010 in memory of my father who passed a way just before then. I also love cooking and finding inventive and delicious ways to make my produce into meals. I'm growing with my experiences, and welcome any helpful advice! Sometime soon I hope to use my garden as inspiration for my art.

This time last year

Sometimes I forget this is only my second year on the plot as it feels like I've had it forever already!
Here are some pics of this time last year, it's good to look back at all the work I've put in and feel proud. I know if I didn't have a young family to look after I would be able to do much more, but under the circumstances, I think the results so far have been positive.

I love looking at the long shadows and washed out light at this time of the year, knowing the warm spring days are just around the corner. I remember days last year in April that it was so warm I got sunburn!

Roll on that asparagus....slurp!
